Man has gone far. Very far. The primary reason for this is, evolution. Evolution took place under nature. Man is, and always will be a part of Nature. In the earliest of times, Man was no different from the other animals that roamed this Earth. But the evolution took place. All evolved. But Man evolved more. Man started using the resources Nature provided, Man was dependent on Nature. Times changed, and now, Man has practically changed the face of this Earth. Its a wonder one cant see the skyscrapers and concrete blocks from space!
Man has now taken over the reigns of this Earth. Once, the reigns which were in Nature's hands, have now shifted hands.
Being human, one does not wonder what earth was in the hands of Nature. There wasn't a speck of grey concrete or sky high buildings or endless roads. It was all Green. Green and Blue. Its all Blue and Green what you can see from space, because thats what it is meant to be. If you stood on a hill, you might see a valley, a canyon, or maybe just long stretches of green pastures. One could sit under a banyan tree, eat fruits maybe (much healthier than French fries), listen to the birds chirp, and just lose ourselves in the arms of Nature. But what do we see around us? Four walls? Pleasant. What do we hear? Honking horns? Melodious.
Man can believe he has full power, he is all supreme. But every now and then, he gets jolts. Jolts of the fury of Nature. The most recent one is the massive earthquake and tsunami that has just struck Japan. It makes you realise, you can never control Nature. You can never reign supreme. And though one might think, he has the reigns, don't forget, it can be snatched back anytime.
At the end, I'd like to leave you with the lyrics of the song, "Mother Nature" by Hurts.
In my dreams I see the life she brings to me
But I forget her in the morning
And I don't need her holy blessings to be free
And I can stand it when she's talking
Talking back to me
In the shadow of mother nature
We find it hard to live our life
But we never chose the life she gave us
And we don't need her to survive
It's no wonder we grow strong while you grow weak
And that's exactly how you made us
And all your violence makes it harder to believe
And every death just leaves us faithless
Faithless in defeat
In the shadow of mother nature
We find it hard to live our lives
But we never chose the life she gave us
And we don't need her to survive
As the Swedish say it, reflektera över det!

I don't know. But why was man given brains if not to develop and explore the world.
ReplyDeletemaybe we did go overboard. But who knows how it was meant to be enjoyed. For all we know, we might have what God exactly wanted. :)
PS: About evolution, idk why but Phoebe had me convinced better than Ross. :P
Eman, Man was given brains to explore the world, to develop the world. Not to practically destroy all its resources. I'm sure man was supposed to live in harmony with nature and all its parts. We weren't supposed to destroy the habitat of all the other beings and then attempt to rebuild it!
ReplyDeleteP.S.- I agree on that ! ;)
